We Believe
In one God who is the creator of all. He is sovereign in all ways through all times. He is alive and active today. In His names are insights into His character and the relationship He seeks with us... Names like... Redeemer... Provider... Healer... Peace... Protector... Everlasting... Most High Lord of All. God exists in three persons; Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Isaiah 40:28;Ephesians 4:6
Jesus Christ is the son of God and the only source of salvation. The deepest needs of our hearts can only be satisfied by Him. He is the ultimate model for how we should live. He died for us to take away our sins. He was buried and he arose from the grave by the power of God. He then commissioned all His followers to communicate the meaning of His life, death and resurrection to the world. This is the gospel we preach. Colossians 1:15-20; Romans 5:6-11
The Holy Spirit came into the world to convict people of sin. He empowers Christians with gifts for ministry, spiritual growth, prayer, service and worship; all for the purpose of honoring Jesus and blessing His church. John 14:15-19; 1 Corinthians 6:17-20; Acts 2:38; Romans 8:9
The Word has been since the beginning. Scripture is inspired by God. It perfectly reveals God’s nature and wisdom for all people of all times past, present and future. The Bible is the book that reflects the Living Word of God, presenting Jesus as the Lord of all. John 1:1; John 1:14; Hebrews 4:12; 2 Timothy 3:16
We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. Believing Jesus is who He claimed to be, namely God, we put our faith in Him to save us. He does this by His death on a cross and resurrection from a grave. Jesus requires repentance of our sins and acknowledging Him as Lord. Once we trust in His death on the cross on our behalf we obey the gospel by our burial in water (baptism) for the forgiveness of our sins. God adds all whose sins are washed away to His church. John 4:24; Luke 13:3; Matthew 10:32-33; 1 Corinthians 15:1-4; Romans 6:3-18; Acts 2:36-47
The church is the present incarnation of Jesus upon earth. The church is the body of Christ and He is its head. The purpose of the church is to continue the mission of Jesus through worship, ministry and the proclamation of the gospel. 1 Corinthians 12:27; Acts 2:42-47; Ephesians 1:22,23; Matthew 28:18-20
The Lord’s Supper should be celebrated weekly, as it was with the early Christians of the Bible, so the church lives in regular remembrance that the cross of Christ is at the center of all we are and all we should be. Acts 20:7; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26
Worship is the lifestyle of the Christian and when Christians assemble to worship together it is a sacred time of praise, celebration, remembrance and encouragement. Romans 12:1, 2; John 4:23, 24; 1 Corinthians 14:25,26; Hebrews 12:26, 27
We are to be a loving family of believers who accepts, teaches, encourages, forgives, honors and loves one another to the glory of God. The family of believers is a safe place where authenticity is cherished, grace is practiced in all ways and Jesus is honored. Ephesians 4:22-32; 1 John 3:10-16
